Now on board

After an early start we set off to Southampton just before 7 & had a relatively easy journey down.  We arrived at the cruise parking to pouring rain but were greeted by a very friendly bus driver & we were soon on our way to the port.

Check-in was also quick & easy but we then had to wait a little while before we were allowed to board the ship so we made the most of the complimentary magazines on offer!

When we got on to the ship we made our way to our cabin where our luggage was waiting for us.  After a quick unpack of our stuff we headed off to the Horizon Bistro for a bite to eat.  There was a good selection of food on offer, but we were told that we could find a wider choice in the Horizon Court self-service restaurant next door.  We also had a meander around the ship, trying to get our bearings.

For dinner, we decided on a table for 2 to ease us in on our first night & both had salmon for our main course.  After that, we had a trip out to the pool to catch the end of Far From The Madding Crowd on the big outdoor cinema screen, wrapped up under our blankets & under cover as it was still raining.  Then it was off to bed as we had an early start the next morning in Guernsey.
